Administration of the Diocese

General Administration

The headquarters of the Diocese are on Rugarama Hill in Kabale town, some 430 kilometres from the Capital City, Kampala.

Administratively, the Diocese is headed by the Bishop.  Under the bishop is the Diocesan Secretary who is the Administrator and Registrar of the Diocese.  Within the Bishop's office are several departments for different activities and services.  These include:

  • Mission and Evangelism
  • Education
  • Finance and Stewardship
  • Planning, Development and Social Services.

Planning, Development and Social Services Department is the biggest Department and has the following programmes:

  • Water and Sanitation Programme;
  • Rugarama Health Centre and Parish Clinics;
  • CBNC Programme;
  • Heifer Project International;
  • Planning and Development Section;
  • Parish Projects;
  • Estates Office;
  • Cathedral Building Project;
  • Diocesan Farm;
  • Bee Keeping Project;
  • Bushara Island Tourism Industry;
  • Njuyeera Retreat Centre;
  • Poverty Alleviation Project;
  • AEE/KNH Orphans Programme;
  • Stomme Foundation Child Sponsorship Programm;
  • Child Ministry (Compassion International);
  • Drucilla Balaba Vocational Training School;
  • Street Children Project;
  • UNDP-Domestic Energy Conservation;
  • AIDS Prevention Programme; and
  • St. Paul Church Town Centre.
