Lake Bunyonyi Development Projects

Lake Bunyonyi, situated 6 kilometres away from Kabale town, is a scenic crater lake with a number of islands.

The Diocese owns three of these islands, Bwama, Bushara, and Njuyeera.  Bwama island is an education centre with a primary school and a secondary school.  Bushara island is a tourist centre with camping facilities.  The island has attracted many tourists because of its strategic position and comfort.  Njuyeera island is a conference and retreat centre.

This Diocese has tremendous potential as a tourist destination.  There are plans to develop these islands into major revenue generating facilities for the Diocese.
