Membership

The cathedral has an active membership of 450, inclusive of interest groups.

The Cathedral interest groups are

  • Mothers' Union, 205
  • Vabvuwi (Fishers of Men), 7
  • Youth group, 50
  • Men's fellowship, 83
  • Sunday school, 87

The Cathedral Service

There is a worship service everyday of the week.

Sunday Worship

  • Every Sunday we have two Holy Communion services.  An English one at 7:30 a.m., using the Book of Common Prayer.  Another one in Shona at 9:30 a.m., using Liturgy 75.
  • We have Sunday school and Creche for children at every 9:30 a.m. service when schools are in session.  An average of 87 children attend.
  • The young group meets at 12:00 noon and an average of 50 attend.

Weekday's Worship

  • On Tuesdays and Thursdays staff Morning Prayer and Holy Communion are held for both diocesan and cathedral staff.  House groups meet every Wednesdays for prayer and fellowship.
  • On Fridays mass is celebrated at 9:00 a.m.  This service has continued for the past thirty years.
  • On Saturdays our Mothers' Union meet for their prayers and fellowship.
  • Choir.  The cathedral has two choirs.  The main choir and the youth choir.  We intend to form a boy and girl's choir to sing at our English service.
